Mercer County Schools

Mercer County, Illinois is located on the western border of the state and consists of gently rolling uplands and streams. Mostly used for agricultural purposes, the county also borders the Mississippi River, making it fertile and rich for planting. With a gorgeous natural landscape, Mercer County is the perfect play area for outdoor enthusiasts. There are a multitude of city parks, campgrounds and golf courses to enjoy as well as many other recreational activities from tennis to disc golf to hiking. For the history buff, there are eight different museums and historical societies that celebrate the local history and make for a wonderful afternoon activity. With a low student-to-teacher ration, there is plenty of individual attention given to students and a warm and inviting feel as you walk through the halls of each building.
