Scott County Schools

Scott County is located in Western Illinois with its county seat in Winchester. In this county you can find many different things to do both indoors and out. If you enjoy the outdoors, Plum Creek Golf Course is located 3 miles north of Winchester on Old Rt. 36. There are also many wonderful scenic places to hike, bike or bird-watch. The Scott County Memorial Pool is located in Monument Park on the North side of town and the pool is open during the summer months. The citizens of this county enjoy the Scott County Historical Society, which came on due to an outgrowth of the United States Bicentennial Celebration in 1976 and the Winchester Sesquicentennial Celebration in 1980. The Historical Society restored the old train depot in Westchester to use for meetings and other activities. In Scott County you will find many excellent education facilities, including Winchester Elementary School, and High School. The students in Scott County receive the best education from the most qualified teachers and staff. There is a true sense of community, with everyone showing support for the school and what it stands for.
