Brown County Community Unit School District 1

Brown County Community Unit School District 1 is home to three schools, which are Brown County Elementary, Brown County Middle School, and Brown County High School. The schools are located in Mount Sterling in the southwestern part of the state.

School officials, teachers, as well as all employees in the Brown County Community Unit School District 1 are devoted to creating a challenging, rewarding, and safe learning environment for all students. The district prides itself on providing an exceptional educational experience where students not only learn the basic educational needs but can also enjoy social activities in the way of organizations and athletic programs. A few of the extracurricular activities include baseball, basketball, cheerleading, softball, volleyball, golf, Anatomy Class, Art Club, Caught in the Act, Dr. Seuss Day, Enrichment, FFA, and National Honor Society as examples.

Parents as well as teachers are involved in the education of their children and are active members of the PTA. The community as a whole participates in various aspects of the educational process.
