Consolidated High School District 218 provides leadership, advocacy and support to districts, policymakers and citizens by promoting equitable access to language support services for students from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds that have been identified as English Language Learners. These services will assist them to become lifelong learners, able to contribute to and function in a multicultural and globally competitive world. Educators focus on enhancing critical thinking and higher level learning skills in the students. In addition, they will implement a Response to Intervention Plan that includes the use of the Auto Skills software program for improvement in students’ reading and mathematics skills. Staff members will be trained in the usage of this program and students will be identified as lower achievers for usage of the tutorial system.
