Gillespie Community Unit School District 7

Gillespie Community Unit School District 7 is a blue-collar bedroom community like many others found throughout the US. The district also has a rich ethnic heritage due to the number of immigrants who came to the US to work in the mines. Academic Intervention Services are intended to assist students who are at risk of not achieving the State learning standards in English language arts, mathematics, social studies and science, or who are at risk of not gaining the knowledge and skills needed to meet or exceed designated performance levels on State assessments. The community has a long tradition of providing students with a strong base of values upon which to build their future. They are dedicated to preparing students for a diverse future in our competitive and evolving technological world.
