Herrin Community Unit School District 4 Ensure a positive school/community relationship that instills pride, involvement, and interest in our school district. It’s the intent of this district to rally around the educational philosophy to encourage the development of critical thinking, self esteem, and responsible people of tomorrow. In addition, they are committed to having high expectations for students to excel in learning. The School Board will exhibit leadership in all endeavors to improve the District’s educational program and facilities. An assessment system is implemented which provides appropriate data for planning, implementing, and evaluating effective intervention programs. District extracurricular activities are offered when possible to enhance the core academic program. It is a school goal to foster in students good work habits, integrity, self-discipline, good sportsmanship, self-confidence and a sense of purpose.
